We get a lot of mail about our bath mats, and one question that crops up rather frequently is: Where do I put it? The answer: Outside your tub.
We understand the confusion. There are a ton of products out there for inside and outside the tub, and the word “mat” gets thrown around on most of them. In general, something called a “bath mat” is designed to sit alongside your tub and provide a warm, dry spot for you to stand while you dry off after a bath or shower. A “tub mat” is intended to go in your tub and is generally distinguished by a textured plastic or vinyl top that provides good footing in a wet environment. Our bath mat has a “slip-resistant” base to improve footing on a dry surface outside of the tub. A tub mat features suction cups that stay gripped to your tub while you’re showering or bathing. This is an especially important detail to remember, as a slip-resistant base designed for dry floors will not work in a wet bath. In fact, you’ll always want to make sure your bathroom floor is dry when you place the bath mat down for use. Hope that clarifies the matter.
